Director of Tennis

Kip Layman

The Standard Club's Director of Tennis, Kip Layman, was born in Miami, FL, but spent most of his tennis career in Virginia. He was a two-time Virginia State Champion and recipient of the 1991 Bill Talbert Sportsmanship Award for the Southern Region presented by the Board of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He played collegiate tennis at the University of Alabama where he was a two-time captain of the Men's Top 8 National Team.

Kip is certified with the United States Professional Tennis Association with a P-1 rating and was honored as the USPTA Georgia Professional of the Year in 2004. He was also the GPTA Male Player of the Year in 2002 & 2006 and was GPTA Director of the Year for a Large Facility in 2006. Kip enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristin, and his children, Landon, Brooke and Harper and Connor.

Peter Lloyd

Australian born and Atlanta-based since 1983, Peter Lloyd is well known throughout the state of Georgia as an accomplished tennis professional. Peter became the Australian Grasscourt Junior Champion at age 17. He played collegiate tennis and was captain of the University of Georgia Men's Team. He won five outdoor Southeastern Conference titles, was an All-SEC Conference Player, and was Captain of the Men's Top 4 National Team. He was also a finalist at the Orange Bowl International Junior Championship. He maintains a Professional 1 rating with the USPTA and GPTA. He has been recognized by the GPTA five times as "Male Player of the Year."

Arturo Nieto

Born and raised in Venezuela where he grew up playing tennis since the age of four. Arturo comes from a tennis family with both sisters having received full scholarships to play college tennis in the U.S. He was ranked top ten in the country in juniors 10-18 years of age and then received a scholarship to play at Jacksonville State University where he played for four years. During his senior year, Arturo helped JSU tennis win its first ever Ohio Valley Conference title at D1. He also earned the all-conference first team during his senior year.

Arturo worked at the Windward Tennis Academy for four years working with top-level juniors and adults. Most recently he was Head Professional at the TPC Sugarloaf Country Club. Arturo has been certified with PTR and GPTA for six years and he is also part of the GPTA Board of Directors.
